Tourist from UK dies during a tour in Upper Assam, Charaideo

JORHAT: A foreign tourist, identified as Alastair Neil Macdonald (76), died while traveling in the Charaideo River Tourism ship on Friday near Dhudung chapori, said sources.

Macdonald was among 59 others who were on board at Charaideo, the river tourism ship, while returning from a week-long tour in Upper Assam. The body of Macdonald was handed over by the tourist agency to Jorhat Police. It was sent for post-mortem to JMCH. His family members from Great Britain are likely to reach Jorhat to receive the body.
