Road Mishaps in Assam Claim Precious Lives, Including a Minor's

GUWAHATI: Assam's Sonitpur district near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border witnessed a tragic road mishap, resulting in the loss of two lives, including a minor. The incident occurred at the 12th Mile, where a Tata Magic vehicle with registration number AS 12 BC 4232 collided with a motorcycle bearing the number plate AS 12 AE 5492.

The collision proved to be fatal for the riders involved in the motorcycle accident. One of the victims was identified as Ajay Rabha, a young individual who lost his life on the spot. The other victim, a 10-year-old boy, also tragically lost his life in the collision.

On the same day, another heart-wrenching hit-and-run case took place on the Barpeta-Howly road in Assam, adding to the growing toll of road accidents in the region. This time, one person lost their life, and another suffered severe injuries. The deceased was identified as Abu Zafar Mandal, a resident of Dablia Para village in Barpeta. Meanwhile, the injured person, Asik Hussain, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Eyewitnesses to the hit-and-run incident reported that a dumper truck was involved in the tragic accident. According to their accounts, the victims were merely on their daily morning walk when the reckless dumper truck struck them. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene promptly after the incident, leaving behind a scene of devastation and sorrow.

The community in Assam is now mourning the loss of lives in these dreadful road accidents. The families of the deceased and injured are left to cope with the irreparable loss and the physical and emotional trauma caused by these incidents.
