Training on mushroom cultivation was organized by BN College, Dhubri in collaboration with the Technology Incubation

DHUBRI: Training on mushroom cultivation was organized by BN College, Dhubri in collaboration with the Technology Incubation Centre (TIC) of Bodoland University, Kokrajhar at Asharikandi village of Dhubri district recently under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of India. Altogether 40 villagers from Asharikandi, Madaikhali and Matiabog have been adopted by the college under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The aim of the programme was to train the villagers with the necessary skill to make them self-reliant and move one step ahead towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Renowned mushroom expert, Dr.Sandeep Das, Professor of Bodoland University and Project Investigator, Technology Incubation Centre, and his team trained the villagers.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan was launched in Dhubridistrict by BN College last month in all the five villages adopted by it. The college adopted five villages— BirshingPt 1, DebottarHasdahaPt V, Matiabhog, Asharikandi and Madaikhaliof Dhubri district under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, which is a flagship programme of the Government of India. The college is planning to carry out different awareness programmes on health and hygiene, Swachhata education and other issues.

Talking to The Sentinel, Principal of BN College, Dr. DhrubaChakrabortty informed that apart from Unnat Bharat Abhiyan campaign, the college also introduced a lot of innovative courses.
