LAKHIMPUR: A training programme for the capacity building of WaSH (Water Sanitation and Hygiene) cadre as Disaster Risk Reduction and WaSH ambassador was held at LDK High School of Salmora area under Naoboicha Development Block of Lakhimpur district on Monday. The programme was organized by the Lakhimpur unit of Indo Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) in support of Secours Catholique. The objective of the programme is the promotion of WaSH ambassadors at community level to spread awareness on water, sanitation and hygiene. In the programme, DharaniPayeng, the Lakhimpur and Dhemaji District Project Manager of IGSSS, highlighted the key points of the project. WaSH consultant JepuleenDutta took part as the resource person and trainer of the programme and conducted illustration on water purification, hygiene and sanitation. A total of 40 participants from 10 villages under the area, viz- PaschimKharkati, Kalaguri, Teokia, Nowbhanga, GosaikhatBalijan, Ghesek, PomuaMajgaon, Khabolu, Na-Pomua, Kathalpukhuri attended as trainees in the training programme.
