JAMUGURIHAT: A two-day training programme on workers' education and development was organized at Magurmari LP School; Sootea by the Regional Directorate, Tinsukia, under the aegis of the Labour and Employment Ministry, Government of India, in collaboration with Sonitpur district Labour Board, that concluded on Friday.

The training programme organized as per COVID protocol was attended by Bipul Nath, village demonstrator, as an expert. Bipul Nath imparted basic training to the women attending the training programme. He highlighted various scopes of enhancing earning source. Forty women took part in the training programme. Ratul Bhuyan, a retired teacher and senior journalist of Sootea, attended the closing ceremony held on Friday. He spoke about various superstitions and traditional beliefs and how they hindered society's development. He further briefed about various government schemes that the State Government had initiated for all-round development of the women community.
