Bokajan: As the nation mourns the death of Hav. Padam Bahadur Shrestha and rifleman Gamil Kumar Shrestha who attained martyrdom in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan Army along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district of North Kashmir on October 20, students and representatives of various social organization paid their tribute to the remains of Lt. Hav. Padam Bahadur Shrestha in Bokajan on Tuesday.
The mortal remains of the martyr which arrived in Dimapur Airport on Tuesday were received by Golaghat SP Pusparaj Singh, DC Dhiren Hazarika and MLA Mrinal Saikia in Dimapur amidst a solemn ceremony where representatives of various organizations joined in to pay their last respect. A martyrs march was also organized by Gorkha volunteers from the airport which was later joined by several hundred youths in Khatkhati and Bokajan.
In a show of solidarity, people of all sections including students, residents, traders and vendors in Bokajan moved out in the street en route the martyr's native village to pay homage to the brave man who sacrificed his life for the nation in the line of duty. The whole of Bokajan town reverberated with patriotic songs and slogans as all took a position to salute and honour the braveheart.
