Sentinel Digital Desk

Our dearest Niyon, son of Rajsekhar Saikia and Mallobika Dutta Saikia and younger brother of Damansekhar Saikia had suddenly left us all to an unknown destination in the fateful evening of June 10. He was a Class IX student of Holy Home Secondary School of Guwahati.

Till June 4, Niyon was busy with his online classes and all other activities. On June 5, he was unwell with mild fever. He was taken to the doctor and at first he was advised for COVID-19 test. Accordingly all the tests for COVID-19 were done and it was negative every time. Then came the test for blood and urine and his creatinine level was found high. Treatment started but his condition deteriorated. Seeing his condition he was again taken to a nursing home on June 10 and got him admitted. Doctors started their treatment and updated his condition to his parents who were waiting outside. They assured of getting well after passing a period of 24 hours. From outside when his father got a chance to peep him, raised his hand and Niyon too nodded his head with a smile from his bed.

Niyon was a good cricketer. Playing cricket was his hobby and played very well. He played cricket with his team at many places of Assam. But alas!! destiny had snatched him away from us. Doctors informed that they failed to save him as he developed Cardiagenic Shock and breathed his last. A life so full of bubbling energy was lost and we could only pray to the Almighty. It is all in the hands of Almighty and we shall pray to cope up with the situation. His demise is a great loss to our family. We pay our homage to the departed soul. May his noble soul rest in eternal peace.
