HOWRAGHAT: Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), has condemned JI Kathar, the president of All Party Hills Leaders Conference (APHLC), for tagging the Karbi Students Association (KSA) as the “Kidnappers Students Association”.
Addressing a press conference at Karbi Anglong Sports Association office Ronghang damned JI Kathar for the irresponsible remark in public to malign the image of Karbi Students’ Association. Ronghang said that KSA is a non-political association, such a remark is unprincipled. He said that Kathar is not fit to lead the Karbi society.
Few days back, the organizing secretary of All Party Hills Leaders Conference, Kursing Timung, condemned the Karbi Students Association, chiefly the faction led by Thomson Rongpi for hailing the decision of the council to establish a Sainik School between Samelangso and Langlokso. Timung called for a boycott of the Karbi Students Association, and retorting Timung’s statement, Karbi Students Association refuted Timung’s statement and demanded an apology from him.
On October 12, in a political rally of All Party Hills Leaders Conference held near Diphu, the party president, JI Kathar, branded the Karbi Students Association as ‘Kidnappers Students Association’ in his address, which afterward went viral in social media.
