Two ambulances, one mortuary van handed over to medical department in Dima Hasao district

HAFLONG: In an effort towards improving the health infrastructure in the Dima Hasao district, Chief Executive Member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa handed over two more ambulances and one mortuary van to Joint Director Health Services Dr. Kalpana Kemprai on Thursday in presence of Executive Member in-charge for Medical, Samuel Changsan.

The programme was ceremonially distributed at the premises of the council secretariat, organized by the office of the Principal Secretary (N) in coordination with the transport department.

One of the ambulances was procured from North Eastern Electric Power Corporaton Limited (NEEPCO) as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2021-22. Officials from NEEPCO BK Tigga, General Manager (HR), and Otom Kharigapsa, Accounts Officer, handed over the key of the ambulance to CEM Gorlosa. The other two vehicles i.e one ambulance and one mortuary van was procured from SOPD fund 2021-22.

Addressing the media persons and people present during the ceremony, CEM Debolal Gorlosa requested the people to responsibly utilize the vehicles so that these can be of maximum use for the needy. CEM also warned the people, especially the officials engaged, not to misuse the vehicles and to use them for the purpose for what they are meant for. He further informed that the two ambulances will be for the use of the people of Thaijuwari PHC village which will be placed at Dihangi Dispensary and Hajadisa CHC. The mortuary van was handed over to the chairman of Diyungbra Town Committee for use by the local people.
