LAKHIMPUR: Two books, authored by noted writer Nripen Phukan, were released at North Lakhimpur Press Club in a programme organized in a befitting manner on Sunday under the auspices of Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra of Lakhimpur.
The programme organized on this occasion was chaired by eminent litterateur Bharat Rajkhowa and it kicked off with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by environmental activist Narayan Barua amidst the blended notes of Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra’s title song. Editor of Mangalmoy Patrika, Sanjib Upadhyay explained the objective of programme which was inaugurated by Jiten Baruah, the director of the Mongalbodh Jagaran Kendra. Baruah remarked that the study of books and the power of wisdom enriched the beauty of the human mind.
In the programme, noted journalist-cum-president of North Lakhimpur Press Club, Sailen Baruah released Itihasor Cha- Pohar while journalist Bubul Hazarika released Bibidh Bimrisha authored by Nripen Phukan, who is a lifetime member of Axam Xahitya Xabha and an ITI professional. Nripen Phukan elaborated the essence of the write-up of the books and about the factors which led him to pen them. Eminent social activist and editor of Saumarjyoti, Uday Sankar Hazarika graced the occasion as an appointed speaker.
