Two child labourers rescued in Sivasagar district

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar district administration has been keeping a hawk's eye vigil on the engagement of child labour and has cracked down on such malpractices when detected by it. In one such instance, the District Level Task Force formed by the Government of Assam successfully rescued two children engaged at a firm located at No. 2 Sologuri in Sivasagar district on Thursday.

After the rescue of the two children aged between 8 to 12 years, necessary medical tests were done and are being given shelter at Pragyalaya Children Home in Sivasagar till the genuine identity of their parents is ascertained. Meanwhile, Labour Inspector Jiban Taid lodged an FIR against the employer Bhashkar Neog of No. 2 Sologuri at the local police station regarding the matter.
