Two collections of Assamese poetry released in Lakhimpur

Two collections of Assamese poetry, published by Jiten Baruah on behalf of Mangalbodh Jagaran Prakashan Parishad, North Lakhimpur, were released in Lakhimpur on Monday.

LAKHIMPUR: Two collections of Assamese poetry, published by Jiten Baruah on behalf of Mangalbodh Jagaran Prakashan Parishad, North Lakhimpur, were released in Lakhimpur on Monday. One of them is Kathamoyotar Sandat, composed by poet Bhagyalakhi Deka while the other is Kabita-24, a poetry magazine of DainikKabita Mancha.

On this occasion, a ceremonial programme was organized at the conference hall of Uttar Lakhimpur Xahitya Xabha Bhavan under the auspices of Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra. It began with a folk song presented by Ronalisa Deka. Noted litterateur Bharat Rajkhowa chaired the programme which was inaugurated by poet and social activist Uday Sankar Hazarika. Retired District Elementary Education Officer Jiban Chandra Dutta released Kathamoyotar Sandat while academician-cum-artiste Binay Baruah released Kabita—24. Notably, the poems published in Kabita—24 were at first published in social media and this collection of poetry has been edited by Bhagyalakhi Deka.

In the same programme, retired Deputy Inspector of School, Kanakeswar Deka Rajkonwar released the new year special issue of Mangalmoy Patrika, regularly published from Mangalbodh Jagaran Kendra.
