Two-day Jatinga Festival in Dima Hasao concludes

Following the establishment of total peace in Dima Hasao, the N C Hills Autonomous Council planned to organize four major festivals in the district every year.

HAFLONG: Following the establishment of total peace in Dima Hasao, the N C Hills Autonomous Council planned to organize four major festivals in the district every year.

Jatinga Festival and Falcon Festival are organized with the theme of preserving migratory birds at Jatinga and Umrangso, and Judima festival and Busu with the theme to showcase the rich culture and tradition of ethnic groups.

Last year, these festivals were not organized properly due to the COVID pandemic but this year, Jatinga Festival was organized following COVID protocol at Jatinga near NH 54 on September 29 and Septemer 30.

Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, Debolal Gorlosa inaugurated the Jatinga Festival in presence of many prominent personalities on Wednesday. CEM Gorlosa appreciated the organizers for organizing the event with discipline in a short period of time.

During the festival, local bands like Outlast, Yung Bapz, Vence nNaiding, Pill Air, and Janaring Nunisa got the opportunity to showcase their talents. All the youth artists were capable to steal the hearts of the people with their mesmerizing performances.

The distinguished guest artistes, Inglish Maker and Deeplina Deka kept people spell-bound by their mesmerizing performances. They also appreciated the people of Dima Hasao for their love and affection.

Both the artistes expressed their love for Dima Hasao and Haflong and said that Haflong was as one of the best tourist spots of the State of Assam with natural beauty.
