A two-day literary festival 'Sahitya Utsav' organized in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: A two-day literary festival 'Sahitya Utsav' organized in Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), Dibrugarh from Saturday, in association with Sahitya Sora and the organizing committee of the 75th year celebration, concluded on Sunday.

The Sahitya Utsav organized at the OIL lecture hall in AMCH campus was inaugurated on Sunday by Dr. Sanjib Kakati, Principal, Assam Medical College and president, Celebration Committee.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sanjib Kakati spoke about the glorious history of AMCH. "We are very proud of our institution because we are going to celebrate 75 years of our institution. The institution has produced many good physicians. Recently, we had organized a Bihu Sanmilan at AMCH where doctors, staff participated in large numbers. The long history of the institution inspires us a lot."

While speaking at the event, former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha Dr Nagen Saikia said, "The contribution of Dr Hemchandra Baruah, the first Principal of AMCH, was immense. He was one of the visionary persons who had contributed a lot in the field of medical education. We are very proud of the institution which is stepping towards 75 years."

Former student of AMCH and eminent writer Dr Nityanand Saikia unveiled the souvenir Sahitya Utsav at the inaugural function of the literary festival. The souvenir was edited by Dr Ajanta Deori and Dr Hiteswar Saikia. The writers penned many articles regarding the institution.

The 62nd edition of the annual mouthpiece of Assam Medical College AMCOL was released by Dr Dhrubajoti Bora, Vice-Chancellor, Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences, in presence of Dr Sanjib Kakati, Principal, AMCH, Dr Pranay Phukan, AMCOL chairman, Dr. Habibul Islam. Many past AMCOL editors attended the occasion.
