Hailakandi: A two-day training program on goat farming got underway at ATMA hall in the District Agriculture Office premises here on Thursday. The training is being organized by the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department under the National Livestock Mission (NLM).
District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer, Dr.Rashid Ahmed Laskar said that the program will cover the types of diseases that affect goats, prevention methods, the importance of nutrition and creep feeding schedules. Also, reproductive management of goats, scientific feeding of goats, value-added products of goat meat and milk for profitable goat farming would also be dealt with during the training program.
The training program was inaugurated jointly by District Agriculture Officer, Sudipto Deb Roy and Subdivisional Agriculture Officer, Dr.AR Ahmed. Besides, Dr. Laskar, the training is being conducted by Veterinary Officers, Dr. Ajay Bania, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Talukdar and Dr. Abu Bakkar Siddique. As many as 39 farmers and youngsters from different parts of the district are undergoing training.
