Two dead in separate road accidents in Sootea

In two separate road accidents that took place in different parts of Sootea, two people died in two days.

JAMUGURIHAT: In two separate road accidents that took place in different parts of Sootea, two people died in two days. According to information, one Chenimai Saikia, a nurse of Gosain Chapori sub-centre, was hit by a bicycle, that resulted in severe head injury, at Paspatipal under Sootea PS. She later died at a private hospital at Tezpur on Monday evening. Chenimai (55), was a resident of Karchantala who left behind her husband, two daughters along with a host of relatives.

In another road accident that took place near Sootea PS, an unknown vehicle hit a motorcycle bearing registration number AS 12-W-4663 over NH 15 at around 8 PM on Tuesday. The biker, identified as Hirakjyoti Mantry, died on the spot while the pillion rider Padma Nath, who sustained severe injury, was admitted to Biswanath Chariali sub-divisional hospital. Hirakjyoti was a resident of Sapekhati, to the north of Sootea.
