Two devotees die in Bhuban Hill, Silchar

SILCHAR: Atop Bhuban Hill, a Maha Shivaratri celebration came to a sad end on Sunday night when two worshippers perished. Ranjit Paul and Buddhiman Ree have been identified as the deceased. On Saturday night, devotees made the ascent to the hill to shower Shivalinga with milk or water. Paul had a severe heart arrest while hiking and passed right away. Police found his body on Sunday and transported it to Silchar Medical College Hospital for an autopsy. On Sunday night, Ree’s body was discovered along a creek near Bhuban Hill’s summit. Lakhipur Dewan Tea Estate resident Ree has been missing since Friday, and his family has reported him missing to the local police. Ree participated actively in Viswa Hindu Parishad.
