BARPETA: The news of missing an amount of Rs 55 lakh from the election office shocked all the people here at Barpeta. It may be mentioned that an amount was in a trunk at the Election office for the polling and presiding officers. Out of the total amount, Rs 55 lakh has been stolen. In this regard, the police have arrested a duo from the office. The accused are — Computer Operator Alakesh Deka, and Junior Assistant Pranjal Kakati. The police have recovered the missing amount.
