TINSUKIA: Based on specific information, Tinsukia police nabbed two minor NSCN (IM) sleeper cells from New Tinsukia Railway station on Saturday evening and later recovered sophisticated arms and ammunition from a hideout in Arunachal Pradesh.

Following thorough grilling, the boys aged 13 and 16 confessed that they had concealed arms and ammunition at Namtok in Arunachal Pradesh. The Tinsukia police led by DIG Jitmol Doley and ASP Ripunjay Kakoty, with the support of 73 Mountain Brigade, raided the location in Arunachal Pradesh and recovered 2 HK Rifles, 3 magazines, 2 IEDs, 283 rounds of ammunition, 3 ATM cards and three mobile phones. They also told police that they were involved in extortion in either side of Assam-Arunachal border and going to Dimapur after being summoned by NSCN (IM) hq.
