Two employees working at the Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH) have been suspended

LAKHIMPUR: Two employees working at the Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH) have been suspended for charging cash for conducting CT Scan in the medical institution. They have been identified as Dharya Buragohain and Tultul Das.

On Sunday, they allegedly charged cash from two patients living under Below Poverty Line (BPL), identified as Hemalata Saikia and Urmila Das, who have been under treatment in the medicine ward of the LMCH. As per complaint made by attendants of the patients before media persons, the two CT technicians took Rs 1600 from the each patients. Later, they returned the taken amount to Urmila Das, when the attendant of the patient declared that they would inform the matter to media. But Hemalata Saikia did not get back the amount she had paid to them.

Notably, the entire CT Scanning process in the LMCH has been managed by an organization naned Spandan. The organization already despatched the suspension letter to the two CT technicians.
