GOLAGHAT: In a tragic incident, two teenagers drowned in the Kaipholanso waterfall of Kakochang in Karbi Anglong on Sunday evening. On Monday morning, their bodies were fished out from a waterfall by the State Disaster Management Authority. The two deceased have been identified as Bibhakar Nag and Sudip Bagchi. Both were from Golaghat town.

As per report, on Sunday, Bibhakar Nag and Sudipt Bagchi along with six other boys went to Kakachang. They went to take bath in the waterfall and Bibhakar Nag and Sudipta Bagchi went missing in the deep water. Due to incessant raining in the upper hills of Karbi Anglong, the water level had increased in the waterfall and a result they drowned.

On Monday,SDMA launched extensive operation to find the missing teenagers. Their bodies were later sent to Golaghat Swahid Kishal Konwar Civil Hospital for post-morten.

Bivakar Nag was a talented right-arm medium-fast bowler. He represented Assam in Cooch Behar trophy in the season 2019-20. His body was taken to Golaghat general field and rich tribute was paid by the members of Golaghat District Sports Association and Assam Cricket Association.
