Two tiger poachers identified as Kanai Daimari and Doda Basumatary nabbed

Two tiger poachers, identified as Kanai Daimari and Doda Basumatary, residents of Balijuri on the northern part of Jamugurihat, were nabbed on Thursday along with four handmade pistols, by the forest department in connection with a tiger poaching case that took place inside the Nameri National Park months back.

JAMUGURIHAT: Two tiger poachers, identified as Kanai Daimari and Doda Basumatary, residents of Balijuri on the northern part of Jamugurihat, were nabbed on Thursday along with four handmade pistols, by the forest department in connection with a tiger poaching case that took place inside the Nameri National Park months back.

A total of seven tiger poachers have been nabbed by the forest department so far. One poacher is still absconding, said a forest official. The forest official further informed that all the apprehended poachers were involved in poaching wild animals inside the Nameri National Park and in trading skin, bones, nails, claws and skulls. Two tiger poachers were apprehended by the forest department along with handmade pistols, skin of Bengal Tiger, bones, nails and skull some months back.
