JAGUN: In a tragic incident, two young girls drowned in Dehing River under Jagun Police Station in Tinsukia district on Tuesday morning. The two young girls have been identified as Rani Patir (8), daughter of Sanjeev Patir and Jarina Moyong (6), daughter of Kutilal Moyong of Karpumpuli village in Jagun. Local villagers along with SDRF personnel started the rescue operation but the bodies of the girls had not been recovered till filing of the report. Local police unit led by IC Biju Das have urged the people living close to the river banks to keep a close watch on their children and prevent them from going to the rivers in spate following recent drowning incidents of children.
