Two youths apprehended while going to join ULFA (I) in Charaideo district

SIVASAGAR: In the midst of self-proclaimed unilateral ceasefire by ULFA (I), there has been a rush among the youths to join the banned organization. Many young men from different parts of Upper Assam have been detained by the police in the last one year. In such an incident, two youths, on their way to join the ULFA (I), were apprehended by the Assam Rifles at Sonari in Charaideo district on Thursday.

The two apprehended youths have been identified as Vikram Moran (33) of Bordumsa in the Tinsukia district and Rajesh Gogoi (22) of Gaurisagar in the Sivasagar district. The Assam Rifles arrested the two youths while they were having tea at a hotel at Sonari in Charaideo district. The two young men are currently being interrogated by the Sonari Police.
