UBPO leaders hold meeting with Bodo villagers living outside BTC

The leaders of the United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) on Wednesday held a meeting with the Bodo villagers of Dhubri and Bongaigaon districts which are not in BTC but likely to be included in Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC).

KOKRAJHAR: The leaders of the United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) on Wednesday held a meeting with the Bodo villagers of Dhubri and Bongaigaon districts which are not in BTC but likely to be included in Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC).

The 10-member team of UBPO was led by president Mihiniswar Basumatary. He said that they attended two public meetings organized by UBPO at Baokabangi village and Chaibari village respectively under Dhubri district. The leaders of the UBPO elaborated the cabinet meeting resolution of the State Government which will form the Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council for all-round growth and development of Boro people living outside BTC and ensure use of Bodo as an associate official language of Assam. On the same day, the team also took part in another public meeting held at Bagpara village under Bangaigaon district to discuss the achievements of the UBPO.
