Basumatary said, "If it had not been for Bodofa's dream, the existing BTC or BTR and BKWAC would not have been created." He also said that they would move ahead with the ideology and teachings of Bodofa in every step.

Basumatary, who also recently elevated to the post of vice-president of BJP State committee, said that the creation of BKWAC for the Boro Kachari people living outside BTC was also a part of the strategy of Bodofa UN Brahma. He said the bill for the BKWAC was passed in the last assembly session held recently and the interim council would be formed within this month. He also said that there would be 40 members in the new council, including 36 elected members and 4 nominated. He further said that for empowering women in the field of politics, they had reserved six seats exclusively for women.

Basumatary also visited the burial site of late Brajendra Kr. Brahma, the great poet, litterateur and thinker who was also the former president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) at Batabari near Dotma and paid floral tribute at his portrait.
