UBPO to observe foundation day today adhering to COVID-19 protocol

United Bodo People’s Organization (UBPO) will observe its 8th foundation day on Sunday adhering to COVID-19 protocol.

LAKHIMPUR: United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) will observe its 8th foundation day on Sunday adhering to COVID-19 protocol. The organization will observe the event across 22 districts of the State outside the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD).

The Central programme of the event will be held at Nirupoma Hagjer Bodo ME School, located at Joyrampur in Dhemaji district under the auspices of the Dhemaji district unit of UBPO. The agenda of the programme will start with the unfurling of the organizational flag by UBPO State president Manoranjan Basumatari while Dhemaji district unit president Ratiram Basumatari will unfurl the flag on behalf of the district committee. It will be followed by a public meeting wherein UBPO founder president-cum-chairperson of Bodo-Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC), Mihiniswar Basumatari will be present as chief guest along with many other dignitaries of the organization and the BKWAC. On the other hand UBPO State president Manoranjan Basumatari and general secretary, Pitambar Brahma informed that the central committee dignitaries of the organization and BKWAC members will attend the foundation day programmes organized by each district.
