TANGLA: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udalguri and farmers of Udalguri bagged four prestigious appreciation awards in the inaugural ceremony of Administrative building of ATARI Zone VI, Guwahati which was inaugurated virtually by Minister of Agriculture and Farmers welfare, Government of India in the presence of huge gatherings both physically and virtually.
Renowned scientists from various parts of the country joined the programme on Wednesday at Guwahati. Subject Matter Specialist, Animal science of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udalguri, Dr Pradip Rajbongshi bagged the appreciation award for popularization of improved livestock farming through social networking. The award was presented to him for his outstanding work in popularization of improved livestock farming amongst the farming community of Udalguri district of Assam. The award was presented in the august presence of personalities like Former Vice Chancellor AAU, Jorhat, Dr. K.M. Bujarbaruah, former DEE, AAU, Jorhat, Dr. H.C Bhattacharya.
Two progressive farmers of Udalguri district Kamaleswar Boro of Purani village at Tangla and Ripu Daimari of Dagarmakha village also received certificates and mementos for outstanding achievement in the area of production of organic farming and scientific pig farming respectively. KVK-Udalguri, Lalpool also received appreciation certificate for outstanding contribution to the district for "documentation of intervention during COVID period."
Head of KVK Udalguri Dr Debasish Borah receiving the award for KVK Udalguri thanked ICAR, ATARI, for recognising the work conducted by the team of KVK, Udalguri and farmers of the district for their cooperation in implementing the programmes. He also said this type of award encourages the future work for uplift of farming community of the district.
