Union Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor reviews NRL projects in Numaligarh

Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum Tarun Kapoor was on a 2-day visit to Numaligarh Refinery to review progress of major projects being undertaken by NRL including the Refinery Expansion Project and the Bio Refinery Project, stated a press release.

NUMALIGARH: Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum Tarun Kapoor was on a 2-day visit to Numaligarh Refinery to review progress of major projects being undertaken by NRL including the Refinery Expansion Project and the Bio Refinery Project, stated a press release.

Kapoor formally inaugurated Pragati Dwar, the doorway to the upcoming Refinery Expansion Project Site before proceeding on a recce of the site. He was accompanied by Chairman of NRL S C Mishra, MD NRL S K Barua, Director Technical NRL B J Phukan, Director Finance NRL I Mittra and senior officials of the company.

Kapoor along with Barua visited Dhansiri Mukh and took a boat ride on the Dhansiri to understand the canal and navigability of Dhansiri river that would be used by NRL for transportation of Over Dimensional and Over Weight Consignments directly from vendor workshop for the Expansion Project.

The Secretary visited the Main Control Room of the Refinery where he took stock of Refinery operations. Thereafter he was taken to the Wax Slabbing Unit of the Wax Plant of NRL, the largest single unit of Paraffin Wax production in the country. He also visited the Bio Refinery Project Site where he reviewed the progress of the Bio Refinery. He was given a detailed presentation of the Bio Refinery project with live drone feed from the construction site. More than 1,700 project workers are presently engaged at various construction sites of NRL and ABRPL(Assam Bio Refinery Pvt. Ltd,) following strict COVID protocols.

Later, the Secretary interacted with senior officials of NRL and launched the new Corporate film of NRL. A brief presentation was made on the future outlook of the company through strategic initiatives. The Secretary expressed his satisfaction on the progress of major projects and assured his full cooperation in resolving issues for seamless execution of the projects.
