United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) workers' meet held; crucial paras of 3rd Bodo Peace Accord discussed in Lakhimpur

Detailed discussion was held over strengthening of the district and anchalik Committees of UBPO by chalking out the plans and programme to be taken for the purpose

LAKHIMPUR: The United Bodo People's Organization (UBPO) organized a workers' meet in Dhekiajuli at Bhupen Hazarika Sikshak Bhawan on Wednesday.

Through a press release, UBPO general secretary Pitambar Brahma said that the event commenced with Nison Basumatary, the president of the Sonitpur District Committee of the UBPO, in the chair. UBPO central committee president Manuranjan Basumatary, vice-president Lalit Chandra Basumatary, general secretary Pitambar Brahma, and other leaders were present in the meeting.

In the event, detailed discussion was held over the strengthening of the district and anchalik Committees of UBPO by chalking out the plans and programme to be taken for that purpose. The house also held discussion over Para 3, Para 5.3 and Para 6.3 of the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) of the 3rd Bodo Accord, signed on January 27 in 2020, for the greater interest of the Bodo people living in the Sonitpur district.
