Unlicensed rehabilitation centres to close down in Tinsukia district

In view of mushrooming growth of unlicensed de-addiction and rehabilitation centres in Tinsukia district

TINSUKIA: In view of mushrooming growth of unlicensed de-addiction and rehabilitation centres in Tinsukia district and few alleged reported deaths in recent times, the district magistrate of Tinsukia, Narsing Pawar by an order under u/s 133 Cr PC declared closure of all Drug De-addiction/ Rehabilitation centres in Tinsukia district which have been running without any valid license/ permission from the competent authority and without any qualified professionals.

Such unlicensed centres have posed potential threat to life and health of the occupants residing in those areas. The order has come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further order, the order stated.
