LAKHIMPUR: “The upcoming generation should enhance and practise the native culture instead of embracing the western culture. The noble Indian culture has enlightened the whole world and disseminated the perennial message of solidarity and brotherhood,” stated Janardan Goswami, the Xatradhikar of Dakshinpat Xatra in Lakhimpur on Sunday in Lakhimpur.
The Xatradhikar made this statement while taking part in the central committee foundation day programme of the Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad, Asom (HYCPA). In the programme, the Xatradhikar delivered an elaborate lecture on the Sanatan (eternal) Hindu culture highlighting its multiple dimensions towards glorifying the human civilization since time immemorial.
Notably, the central committee foundation day of the HYCPA was observed under the auspices of the Lakhimpur district unit of the organization in a befitting manner with a day-long programme at the Lakhimpur District Library auditorium. The open session of the event, held under the management of Lakhimpur unit president Jugmajyoti Dutta and general secretary Madhab Das, began with the former Principal of Basic Training Centre, Kinaram Gogoi in the chair. Central committee organizing secretary Pallav Saikia explained the objectives of the programme. In connection he highlighted the aims and objectives of the organization too.
Speaking on the occasion, HYCPA general secretary Dipankar Gohain threw light into the present political and social scenario of Assam. He highlighted various burning problems of the State that had caused an alarming threat to the demographic structure. He raised demand to update the National Register of Citizens in Assam too by fixing 1951 as base year along with the entire nation. Environmental activist and director of Rengoni, Biju Kumar Sarmah, practitioner of Xattriya culture, Dipak Sarmah, and Tai Ahom Yuva Parishad central committee organizing secretary Ajit Burhagohain took part in the programme as guests of honour.
