UDALGURI: United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) president Pramod Boro campaigned for the UPPL candidates of Bhairabkunda, Harisinga, Dhansiri, Rowta and Pachnoi Serfang in Udalguri on Thursday. He urged people to vote for a change in BTR.

Former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has ruled for 17 years but instead of developing the region, he created a legacy of nepotism and corruption, Boro alleged. The UPPL will give justice to the people of all communities in the region, he added.

Former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhw Gwra Brahma said that if the UPPL came to power, rule of justice would prevail, he said. Bhramon Baglari, the vice-president of UPPL, while delivering the welcome address, lambasted Hagrama Mohilary and urged the people to vote for UPPL to end Mohilary's misrule.

The campaign in Bhairabkunda, Dhansiri, Panchnoi Serfang, Routa and Harisinga constituencies was done through the public meeting at Nalbari playground in Udalguri on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by Gobinda Basumatary, the vice-president of UPPL and also the candidate for the Bhairabkunda constituency. The meeting was also addressed by Dipak Nirola, the general secretary of BTR Gorkha Samaj, and others.
