Last year, 2,813 individuals died in 6,737 incidents across the state, with many more injured. According to the EC recommendations, the police, district administrations, the Transportation Department, the Health Department, and others must collaborate to execute the road safety rules. The state, on the other hand, is far from putting them into action. According to a source in the Transport Department, the SC committee on road safety will visit the state on December 15, 2021, to inspect a few accident-prone areas and examine the situation with all stakeholders.
