JAMUGURIHAT: Newly appointed vice chairman of Animal husbandry of Assam Paresh Borkakaty was felicitated at a public meeting organized in the conference hall of No 3 Sootea GP with Trinayan Bora in the chair on Saturday. The felicitation programme organised by greater Sootea Nagarik Sabha in association with other organisations of Sootea area was conducted by Udai Shankar Saikia, president of No 3 Sootea GP. Organisations including greater Sootea Nagarik Sabha, Sootea senior citizens forum, Sootea Natya Samaj, Sootea unit of AASU, Sootea press club, Istantik, Sootea sports association, Sootea Anchalic Panchayat, Yuba Morcha Nagsankar along with others participated in the programme.
He was felicitated with a citation, Sarai, japi, gamocha. Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika graced the programme as a distinguished guest and recalled the social contributions of Borkakaty and his distinguishing role in strengthening the party as well. After being felicitated by various socio-cultural organisations of the greater Sootea, Borkakaty expressed his gratitude and assured all that he would work more with dedication in the days to come. Bishnu Barua, assistant secretary of Sootea Nagarik Sabha coordinated the proceedings.
