Vigilance Awareness Week Kicks off in State

Bongaigaon: The Vigilance Awareness Week, 2019 from October 28 to November 2 commenced at Bongaigaon Refinery in a befitting manner. On the occasion, a balloon containing the central theme of the VAW 2019, ‘Integrity- A way of Life’ was also released in the air.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2019, a series of programmes have been chalked out like displaying of vigilance posters and banners inconspicuous locations, distribution of Do’s and Don’ts to employees and public, essay, quiz and slogan competition amongst employees, speech/quiz competition among students of neighbouring schools and colleges, vigilance workshop for officers, customer grievance redressal camp for contractors/vendors and street play in public places at Refinery Township. The valedictory function will be held on November 2 at RCCC, Bongaigaon Refinery Township. A special vigilance in-house journal will also be released on the occasion.

A Kalita, CGM IC, appreciated the formation of Integrity Club at BGR HS School as a noble initiative to cultivate ethical values for future leaders and urged employees for their constant support in streamlining systems and procedures to ensure the highest level of corporate governance.

SIVASAGAR: Along with the rest of the nation, the Sivasagar district administration is also observing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 28 to November 2. The function began with administering pledge by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Dr MS Lakshmi Priya to the employees of the DC’s amalgamated establishment on the first day. To mark the occasion, a meeting was held at the Sukafa conference hall of DC’s office. The meeting was called to show zero tolerance against corruption and to work with sheer integrity and complete transparency.

A slogan-writing competition will also be organized among all government offices, including the DC office. Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year is a part of the multi-pronged approach of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The purpose here is to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness. With the theme ‘Integrity- A way of life’, Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed from Monday to Saturday. Meanwhile, the other government offices of the district also took the pledge of integrity.
