Voter awareness programme concludes in Cachar District Administration

As a part of systematic voter’s Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP) ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections

SILCHAR: As a part of systematic voter's Education and Electoral Participation Programme (SVEEP) ahead of the second phase of Assembly elections, Cachar District Administration organised their concluding programme through a mega voter awareness drive through "lipi" festival at Silchar Railway Station on Tuesday. At the outset all the dignitaries present were felicitated by "Uttorio". On this occasion a dance and skit was performed by various cultural troops.

Speaking on the occasion Joint Secretary ,Mini secretariat, J.R. Lalsim said, "As per ECI guidelines throughout the state voter awareness programme was organised and under the umbrella programme of Garv Cachar we have celebrated all the elements that make Cachar special."

"This time a bunch of programmes were organized for voter awareness. As a part of voter awareness programme, drawing record-breaking long rangoli, sand art, kite competitions and boat races were also been organised at different constituencies of the district," she added.

"Today we have choosen Silchar Railway station as the venue for concluding programme of voter awareness because of its large gathering, as a part of awareness programme we have installed 17 numbers of glow sign boards to celebrate Garv Cachar at 15 prominent places of Cachar district including Silchar Railway Station and our main moto is to highlight all the prides of Cachar," she quipped.
