Want To See An SP Who Can Tell Me To Visit His District Without Security: Assam CM

The conference was organised to discuss various issues, law and order situations, citizen-centric service or pending cases in the investigation.

Dulianjan: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that he wants to see a Superintendents of Police (SP) who can tell him to visit his district without security.

While speaking at the inauguration of 2nd two-day conference at Duliajan in Assam's Dibrugarh, the Sarma said, ''I want to see an SP who can tell me that I could visit his district without security."

The conference was organised to discuss various issues, law and order situation, citizen centric service or pending cases in investigation.

Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the Chief Minister tweeted, ''To chart out an efficient roadmap for our police force, I inaugurated the 2nd SPs Conference at Duliajan. 94 SPs, Addl SPs and SDPOs representing 34 districts are participating in the conference held to follow up on decisions of the 1st conference at Kaziranga 6 months ago''.

Earlier on June 8 and 9, 2021 similar conference was held in Kaziranga.

According to reports, the Chief Minister has already decided to reduce his entourage from Monday while travelling in Guwahati city.

As the government has decided to hold the SP conference every six months, the next such conference will be held in the Dergaon Police Training centre after six months.
