Webinar on human-pachyderm conflict held in Sadiya College

Owing to the increase in human-wildlife conflict, a webinar was organised by the Department of Zoology, Sadiya College in collaboration with IQAC, Sadiya College and Aaranyak on Saturday.

DOOMDOOMA: Owing to the increase in human-wildlife conflict, a webinar was organised by the Department of Zoology, Sadiya College in collaboration with IQAC, Sadiya College and Aaranyak on Saturday.

The webinar was participated by more than 150 students, local people, faculties and educationists was inaugurated by Brojen Borah, Principal (i/c), Sadiya College.

The webinar started with a welcome address by Dr. Jai Dayal Mali, Head & Asstt. Professor, Department of Zoology, Sadiya College followed by speech from Dr. Karunakar Panda, Co-ordinator, IQAC of the college.

Khirud Saikia, AFS, Range Forest Officer, Sadiya Forest Range, Tinsukia gave a short talk regarding the conflict taking place at local level. He also cited that the construction of Sadiya Industrial Area near Dhola-Sadiya Bridge that is a un-notified Elephant Corridor might also be the reason of such conflicts.
