Will ensure everyone in BTAD lives with dignity & honour: CM Sarbananda Sonowal

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday campaigned for BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) candidate of Salakati, Kabita Basumatary, at Kalipukri in Kokrajhar. He was accompanied by State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sonowal said, "Every community wants equal development and justice and thus the BJP will ensure that everyone lives peacefully with dignity and honour in the BTAD."

He said the rights of the Bodos, Koch Rajbongshis, Rabhas, Garos, Bengalis, Nepalis, Adivasis, Muslims and others would be protected equally. He assured that the BJP will give land rights and land pattas to all deserving communities. He also pitched for development in all spheres.

Sonowal said great leaders like Bodofa UN Brahma, Kanakeswar Narzary, Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, Rupnath Brahma, Bir Chilarai will inspire to strengthen the communal integrity to work for the welfare of all communities. He assured that the BJP will grant ST status to Koch Rajbongshis, Adivasis and Tea tribes if it comes to power. He called upon all to vote for the BJP to bring equality to all.

State BJP president Dass said the BJP will form the next government in the BTC as the party will win at least 15 seats in Udalguri and Baksa districts where 1st phase election for 21 seats took place on Monday. He also claimed that the BJP will take most of the seats in Kokrajhar and Chirang in 2nd phase.

On the other hand, Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma campaigned at Romoni Ashram, Dotma for BJP candidate Bhibuti Borgoyary and at Saraibil in Gossaigaon for its candidate Willium Narzary.
