DONGKAMUKAM: The second phase assembly polls in 20th Boithalangso LAC was peaceful with women voters turning out in large numbers on Thursday. Long queues were seen in the early hours of polling in most polling stations.

Eight candidates are in fray in 20th Boithalangso whose fates were sealed on Thursday. Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang and MP Horensing Bey cast their vote at Ram Rongpi PS at Dongkamukam under Bithung Rengthama MAC constituency and Doloni LP School PS under Rongkhang MAC constituency respectively.

Ronghang, while talking to media persons, said, "We will win in all the four assembly seats with a thumping majority. "Close contest is expected with Congress," he added. He thanked all the voters of Karbi Anglong for coming out in large numbers and for having faith in democracy. The voting percentage is expected to be more than 72 per cent in Boithalangso LAC. Official declaration is awaited.
