Will work for development of people if voted to power: UPPL candidate

KOKRAJHAR: Former MCLA of BTC from Dotma constituency and contesting United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) candidate Jatirindra Brahma is determined to work for the development of people if voted to power in the ensuing BTC election.

Brahma said the UPPL had been raising its strong voice against the practice of corruption and nepotism by the ruling party. He said their sole aim was to establish good governance in BTC and ensure development of all in every sector. He also said that the UPPL would fulfil its commitment to the people.

Brahma said that the UPPL was becoming a potential political force in the region. Claiming his comeback to power from Dotma constituency, he said that the people of the region were looking for change in BTC and they had faith in UPPL. He said that all communities were supporting the UPPL to root out corruption and bad governance.

Replying to questions, he said he would work while keeping an eye on need base and as per the wishes of the local people. He also expressed apprehension over the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) entry in council politics and its plan to capture the power of the council.
