Woman detained with Bangladeshi currency notes in Silchar

On a tip off from reliable source, 07 BSF Battalion raided the house of Nazir Hussain of Lafasail area under Karimganj police station on Thursday

SILCHAR: On a tip off from reliable source, 07 BSF Battalion raided the house of Nazir Hussain of Lafasail area under Karimganj police station on Thursday and recovered Bangladeshi currency notes worth Rs two lakh and Rs 87 thousand Indian rupees. The Battalion also recovered 3 mobile phones and Bangladeshi SIMs from his house. The wife of Hussain, Shelley begum (25), was also detained.

The raid and detention by BSF was carried out under the command of intelligence sleuth Pankaj Kumar of 07 Battalion of Lakhibazar Company with the help of woman brave hearts. Both Husain and Shelley Begum were cross-examined and on that basis the needle of suspicion was on the latter. Bangladeshi and Indian currency notes as well as SIMs were handed over to Karimganj police station. Shelley too was sent under police custody.
