GOLAGHAT: Due to alleged negligence of Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital authority, a pregnant woman had to lose her baby. According to allegation, on Sunday afternoon a pregnant woman from Kenduguri gaon of Morangi mouza under Golaghat district was admitted in Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital. The nurses on duty said that the patient had more than four hours to give birth. In the meantime, the patient felt intense delivery pain. This was informed by the guardian of the patient to nurses several times but they allegedly did not listen.

Sometime later, the nurses asked them to take the patient to the labour room and noticing the critical condition of patient, they advised the attendant to take her to another hospital because there were no doctors in the civil hospital at that time to provide treatment to the patient.

The pregnant woman was immediately taken to a private nursing home near Golaghat town but the nursing home also refused to admit the patient in that condition. Later, she was taken to Jorhat for better treatment. In Jorhat, the woman gave birth to a baby but the baby passed away.

The patient and family members blamed the Golaghat Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital authority for delayed treatment, negligence and ignorance due to which the patient lost her baby. The patient and her family members have demanded the authority concerned to conduct inquiry into the matter.
