TINSUKIA: The workers of Chitronola Tea Estate, a privately owned under Pangree PS in Tinsukia district, declared lockout after the owner of tea garden refused to pay wages and deprived PF and other benefits to its workers.

Located at Bhrahmajan Tokoupathar, the garden is owned by Jintu Singh who allegedly used to lease out the garden to private parties during leaf plucking season. During lean seasons, the management declined to take any responsibility of workers, alleged activists of Pangree branch of ATTSA. They also threatened to launch democratic agitation if the garden management failed to resolve the issues.
