HAFLONG: The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, Dima Hasao, organized a two-day awareness workshop and introductory training for marginal farmers and youth of rural areas on feed and fodder development under the National Livestock Mission, 2022-23 recently at the Haflong Veterinary Campus. The programme was attended by Poudamin Newme, EM, T T Daolagupu, Principal Secretary, NCHAC, Dr BK Kakati, District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Officer, and others. All the speakers, while encouraging farming for livelihood, spoke on various government schemes and facilities. As many as 60 farmers from rural areas of Haflong took part in the training. EM Newme in his encouraging speech appealed to all the farmers to avail the government schemes for their development. He said the council and the State Government were keen for the all-round development of the district and its people. Later, EM Newme and all the other dignitaries distributed certificates to the farmers who took part in the training.
