Workshop on child protection held at DRDA training hall in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: The Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, with technical support of UNICEF Assam, organized a Learning-cum-Orientation Workshop on child protection issues with special focus on Mission Vatsalya at DRDA training hall in Dibrugarh on Tuesday.

ASCPCR chairperson Dr Sunita Changkakati, ASCPCR member Dr Pilu Hazarika, Jitu Das, ADC, Dibrugarh, Bitul Chetia, Additional SP Dibrugarh, Dr Hemoprava Borthakur, Assam Women Commission chairperson, were among the guests and dignitaries present in the workshop. The workshop was attended by Child Development Project officers, Block Elementary Education Officers and Anganwadi Supervisors of the district.

Dr Pilu Hazarika spoke about the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of children) Act, 2015. Maharshi Goswami spoke about the guidelines and scope of work of duty bearers as it has been drafted under the Mission Vatsalya guidelines which focuses on multi-departmental convergence approach to protect rights of children.
