Workshop on countering climate change organized in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH: The National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia, the apex in-house training institute of Prasar Bharati, in collaboration with DDK Dibrugarh and AIR Dibrugarh, organised a three-day workshop on 'Environment Conservation and Countering Climate Change' in Dibrugarh. The 3-day workshop starts on January 8 and will conclude on January 10.

The first day of the workshop held insightful sessions on countering climate change and saving biodiversity from climate change threats, followed by a face-to-face interaction with Padmashree Awardee Jadav Payeng, also known as the Forest Man of India. The participants on the second day of the workshop will do a field visit to Dihing-Patkai National Park to witness one of the most precious rainforests in India.

The third day of the workshop will discuss case studies of countering climate change, the role of public broadcasters in countering climate change, and the case study of green broadcasting in Akashvani, Dibrugarh. The National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia is the apex in-house training academy of All India Radio and Doordarshan, primarily catering to the training needs of programming and engineering personnel of All India Radio and Doordarshan. The Academy conducts about 120 courses every year and trains around 1,600 programming and engineering personnel.
