DHUBRI: A three-day workshop on Kathak dance was organized by an exponent of Bharatnatyam, Kathak and all other classical dances- Erika Nandi here at Kalibari Auditorium recently.

The workshop was conducted by Trina Roy and Kajol Mishra Roy. Kajol Mishra Roy is the grand-daughter of widely famed exponent in classical dance, Lallji of Jaipur Gharana, and she had earlier performed Kathak dance at a cultural function held in the Wimco (Western Assam Match Company) Quarter premises way back in 1978. Both Trina Roy and Kajol Mishra Roy enthralled the audience with their dance, which hitherto had not been performed on the stage of Dhubri.

Talking to The Sentinel, Erika Nandi informed that altogether 72 participants took part in the workshop and underwent extensive practice of various forms of Indian classical dance. "In fact, as it was planned, this programme was to be held in 2020, but due to COVID-19, it had to be deferred and finally could be organized this year," she said. All the 72 participants of the workshop were given away the Certificate of Participation.
