A CORRESPONDENT
DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of ABITA and UNICEF, a three-day workshop on mother and child healthcare was organized from March 2 to March 4 at Banamali Saikia Xahitya Bhavan, Makum.
The AASHA workers belonging to several tea estates were given training on taking care of pregnant women and women giving birth to child, on malnutrition and steps to be taken for maintaining proper nutrition of both child and mother. They were also given training on drinking water, cleanliness and maintenance of social and individual hygiene.
Anjali Changmai and Rinju Saikia joined as resource persons while child development project unit offered substantial help for successful completion of the workshop. The programme manager of ABITA-UNICEF, Muktikam Bordoloi and Project Co-ordinator Gautam Rajkonwar offered thanks to all for extending support to conduct the workshop.
